Mark Your Calendars for the 2017 Corn/Soy EXPO
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 12/07/2016

Planning is already underway for the Wisconsin Corn/Soy EXPO educational sessions and trade show, scheduled for February 2-3 at the Kalahari Conference Center in Wisconsin Dells. Organizers say the event will kick off with an early riser session featuring Bryan Doherty of Stewart-Peterson, who will talk about commodity transfers in 2017. That will be followed by a presentation by John Phipps on surviving in times of low crop prices.

Other educational breakout sessions will cover topics like protecting water quality, soy health partnerships, corn and soybean disease management, establishing pollinator habitat, farm succession planning, regulations on drone use, and changing pork quality to improve consumer experiences.

On day two, attendees will hear from Dr. Paul Mitchell with the University of Wisconsin-Extension on what to expect with the Trump Administration, program payments and pesticide policy. There will also be a panel featuring Wisconsin bankers moderated by Orion Samuelson. And a bonus agronomic session will highlight the quest for high corn and soybean yields.

As always, the event serves as the annual meeting spot for the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association, Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board, Wisconsin Soybean Association and Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board, and Wisconsin Pork Association.

The annual gathering provides an opportunity for producers to mix business with family time at a popular Wisconsin winter destination. Admission to the Pork Producers Taste of Elegance reception is included as part of Corn/Soy EXPO and a special overnight standard room rated at the Kalahari are available for registered conference attendees.

Registration materials are available online at www.cornsoyexpo.org or you can request information by calling the Wisconsin Soybean Program office at 608-274-752 or the Wisconsin Corn Program office at 262-495-2232.
