Ag, Business Stakeholders Holding NAFTA Meeting in Milwaukee
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 12/07/2017
Wisconsin farm groups and other businesses and commercial organizations are holding a summit next week in Milwaukee to discuss the importance of the North American Free Trade Agreement and talk about its impact on the state's economy. The forum will kick off December 15 at 7:30 a.m. at the Lake Express Ferry Terminal.
The agenda include addresses by newly-appointed State Agriculture Secretary Sheila Harsdorf, as well as Tim Sheehy with the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce and Christopher Wenk from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
U.S. Senator Ron Johnson will deliver the keynote speech during the meeting. And attendees will also hear from Wisconsin Farm Bureau President Jim Holte.
The morning wraps up with a discussion panel on what's at stake for farmers, manufacturers and service providers in the NAFTA negotiations. Participants of that roundtable will include Rob Gardenier, ME Dey & Co.; Doug Biggs, Gilman Precision; Bob Fitzgerald, Johnsonville Sausage; and Jeff Schwager, Sartori Foods.
