Registration Now Open for Cheese Industry Conference
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 12/14/2016

Registration for the 2017 Wisconsin Cheese Industry Conference is now open. Co-hosted by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association and the Center for Dairy Research, WCIC will be held April 12-13 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.

"The Wisconsin Cheese Industry Conference has earned a reputation for offering the nation's best technical education programs for cheesemakers and the best opportunities to connect," said WCMA Events Director Judy Keller. "In 2017, WCIC will be even bigger and better than ever."

The Food and Drug Administration's John Sheehan will provide updates on food safety, while CDR staff detail new frontiers in milk and whey proteins. CDR staff will also present some of the latest innovations in cheesemaking, touching on milk standardization, salting, and research on warm whey.

Other WCIC seminars include an overview of issues impacting the global trade of cheese, a primer on cheese grading, and discussion of strategies to recruit and retain a quality workforce as the labor pool shrinks. Attendees may also sign up for a first-of-its-kind human resources boot camp.

For a limited time, registrants can take advantage of two deep discounts. The 'early bird' rates available through January 16 save attendees 20-percent off their full or single-day registration costs.

New this year, the WCHA is also offering a special discount code applicable to Wednesday exhibits-only registration for employees of dairy manufacturing, processing and marketing companies.

For more information about the conference or to take advantage of the discount offers, go to: www.cheeseconference.org or call 608-828-4550.
