Thirty-Eight Vying for 2018 Wisconsin Fairest of the Fair

The 2018 Wisconsin Fairest of the Fair will be crowned during the 52nd Wisconsin Association of Fairs' annual convention in Wisconsin Dells next month. Program coordinators say 38 students will compete for the title, in which the winner will travel the state next year as the ambassador and spokesperson for all the fairs of Wisconsin. The competition is being held January 7-10 at the Chula Vista Resort.

The contestants will participate in several rigorous interviews and impromptu question and answer sessions throughout the three-day competition.

This year's candidates include: Barron County Fair, Katie Bates; Brown County Fair, Kaylee Coel; Calumet County Fair, Ashley Pagel; Central WI State Fair, Alysha Bauer; Clark County Fair, Krista Rueth; Columbia County Fair, Esther Considine; Crawford County Fair, Keegan Eberling; Dodge County Fair, Alicia Burnett; Dunn County Fair, Lexi Grossbier; Fond Du Lac County Fair, Kati Kindschuch; Green County Fair, Rachel Gilson; Green Lake County Fair, Bree Ann Moderow; Iowa County Fair, Kara Hutter; Jefferson County Fair, Ann Schroeder; Juneau County Fair, John Bermeo; Kenosha County Fair, Michelle Knapp; Kewaunee County Fair, Isabella Haen ;La Crosse Interstate Fair, Anna Gasper; Lafayette County Fair, Brodie Abney; Langlade County Fair, Abby Michels ;Lodi Ag Fair, Kelli Yelk; Marquette County Fair, Brianne Novy; Northern WI State Fair, Julia Nunes; Oconto County Fair, Tori Hull; Outagamie County Fair, Amanda Stingle; Polk County Fair, Sarah Carufel; Racine County Fair, Sarah Eulgen; Rock County Fair, Brooke Trustem; Sauk County Fair, Beth Yanke; Sheboygan County Fair, Ashley Miller; St. Croix County Fair, Kaitlin Konder; Vernon County Fair, Allison Hardy; Walworth County Fair, Madison Stronach; Washburn County Fair, Cheyenne Nowaczyk; Waukesha County Fair, Sarah Stock; Waupaca County Fair, Sydney Brooks; Winnebago County Fair, Ariel Bjorge; and WI Valley Fair, Katelyn Schmoll.

The winning contestant will replace outgoing Fairest of the Fair Rebecca Starkenburg from the Lodi Agricultural Fair in Columbia County.
