State Egg Production Sees First Dip of 2018

Wisconsin egg production during November was 151 million eggs. That was down five percent from last month and four percent lower than a year ago, according to the latest USDA Chickens and Eggs report.
The agency says it was the first year-to-year drop in over since March 2017.
The average number of all layers on hand was 6.79 million, up one percent from last month, but down slightly from last year.
Eggs per 100 layers for November were 2,222, six percent less than in October and three percent lower than in November 2017.
