Dairy Foundation Awards More Education Grants
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 12/15/2017

The education foundation of the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin has presented another round of grants to five non-profit organizations that have unique ideas in educating consumers about the importance of the dairy industry. The Professional Dairy Producers Foundation chose the recipients based on applications sent in recent months.

From Wisconsin, grant winners include the Wisconsin Center for Agriculture and Environmental Resources, which helps farmers better understand the goals and objectives of regional watershed programs; Peninsula Pride Farms, Inc. is working with agencies and industry to reduce nutrient, sediment and pathogen loss to ground and surface water in the Southern Door and Kewaunee Counties; and Lafayette Ag Stewardship Alliance to continue its campaign toward progressive agriculture practices that are protective of water quality.

Other funds went to the Altoona-Blair County Agricultural Career Day 2018 in Pennsylvania; and the North Carolina Association for Dairy Stabilization and Growth.

Meanwhile, the next grant application period has already begun with requests due by June 1. Organizations may apply for grants of up to $5,000. For grant criteria and an application package, visit www.dairyfoundation.org.
