'Alice' Apps Due Soon

Wisconsin women interested in applying to become the 68th Alice in Dairyland are being reminded that applications are due soon. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age before June 1, 2015.

"Applying for the position of Wisconsin's 67th Alice in Dairyland is one of the best decisions I've ever made," said current Alice, Zoey Brooks. "If you have a passion for agriculture, education, and communications, this position is a great opportunity to take those passions to the next level and to make long lasting career connections in the industry."

The woman selected will travel approximately 40,000 miles as a spokesperson for Wisconsin's food, fiber, and natural resources industry. She has the duty of presenting hundreds of speeches, media interviews, and educational presentations throughout the year.

Knowledge or experience in planning and executing public relations or marketing campaigns is a plus. The preferred candidate will also have the ability to discuss Wisconsin's agricultural products and issues facing agriculture in both rural and urban environments. Public speaking skills are essential to the position.

The annual salary is $40,000, plus travel expenses and individual health insurance reimbursement. For more information, call 608-224-5115. Applications are due on January 5.
