Grinstead, Hoynoski Among '40 Under 40' National Winners
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 12/21/2015

The agribusiness division of Vance Publishing has released the names of honorees for its third annual '40 Under 40 Award' program, which recognizes people who make a significant contribution to America's food system. This year, two of the winning recipients are from Wisconsin.

Katie Grinstead, 37, grew up on her family's farm in Fond du Lac. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and achieved her degree in agricultural journalism, but has since returned to her production-agriculture roots and is now the co-owner of Vir-Clar Farms LLC.

Grinstead is also involved with the Fond du Lac Charity Club, which helps raise money to provide milk and formula to children in need.

And Jodi Hoynoski, 37, was also raised on a farm in Berlin. After receiving her bachelor's degree in dairy science and communications from UW-Madison, she decided to combine her two loves: people and cows, and found her calling at Holstein Association USA, Inc., where she serves as the executive director for the Holstein Identification and Members Services department, as well as programs manager for the Holstein Foundation. For the Holstein Foundation, Hoynoski coordinates the Young Dairy Leaders Institute through program planning and fundraising.

Jodi also serves on the corporation as Education Chair for the Association of Women in Agriculture, where she is responsible for their scholarship program.

The recipients of the 40 Under 40 award were chosen by a panel of judges who have had distinguished careers in the agriculture field.

Vance Publishing ag publications include Drovers/CattleNetwork, Dairy Herd Management, Bovine Veterinarian, PorkNetwork, The Packer, AgProfessional, Citrus + Vegetable, The Grower and Produce Ops.
