Wisconsin Was Top U.S. State at 2014 World Cheese Awards

Wisconsin took home more awards for its cheese than any other U.S. state at the recent World Cheese Awards in London.

Award-winning Wisconsin cheeses came from six companies including Sartori, Emmi Roth USA, Arthur Schuman, The Artisan Cheese Exchange, Burnett Dairy Cooperative and Carr Valley Cheese Co. Super gold medals went to Emmi Roth's Grand Cru Surchoix and Sartori Reserve Kentucky Bourbon BellaVitano, which also received a 'Major Winner' award in the Best Overseas Additive Cheese category.

The World Cheese Awards, now in its 26th year, received close to 2,600 entries from 33 countries including the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, Mexico, Argentina, Spain, Brazil and the U.S. Entries were judged by 250 experts from around the world.

The competition judged during the BBC Good Food Show in mid-November.
