State Fair Continues to Rank Among the Best Events in the Nation
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 12/18/2014

The awards continue to pile up for the Wisconsin State Fair, held each summer near Milwaukee. Fair office officials have announced that the event won 22 awards at the 124th Annual International Fairs and Expositions Convention held this month in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Award entries are evaluated and judged by a team of industry leaders. The Wisconsin State Fair submitted entries in the three main categories of the event, which include Agricultural Awards, Competitive Exhibits Awards Programs, and Communications Awards.

For the fourth year in a row, Wisconsin placed in the top three for the coveted honor of Best Overall Marketing Campaign, winning second place this year. The event was awarded the first place designation in 2011, 2012 and 2013 while in Division 4, and continues to place high in Division 5 among other fairs with over one million attendance.

The fair also received the highest honor bestowed upon competitive exhibits programs, the 2014 Best of Division award, which is chosen from all fairs entered in each division. The Competitive Exhibits Awards Program recognizes excellence in competitive exhibit displays and programs, and enhances the IAFE resource library with new ideas and information for other fairs to utilize in the future.

And it was recognized for its exemplary efforts in sponsorship with the 2014 Innovation in Sponsorship Award for Best Single Sponsorship Activation at a fair.

"The fact that our organization continues to receive positive recognition and awards across various departments and categories is a testament to the exceptionally well-rounded experience we offer our guests at the Wisconsin State Fair," said State Fair Park CEO Rick Frenette.

He adds that Division 5 includes several of the biggest and best fairs in the country and said his staff should be proud to be part of the new level of competition.
