'A Young Shepherd' Selected as Book of the Year
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 12/18/2006

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Women's Committee has selected 'A Young Shepherd' as its book of the year. The publication has been written by Cat Urbigkit, and features Cass, a young shepherd who works on his family's sheep farm in Wyoming. The book has simple, informative text and engaging photos and presents a fascinating glimpse of a hard but rewarding way of life. It's published by Boyd Mills Press.

A Young Shepherd is one of nine books that is part of the Farm Bureau's children's book series selected to provide children accurate and modern depictions of agriculture. County Farm Bureaus and others purchase these books and donate them to local libraries. The books may be purchased individually or as a set.

For more information on the children's books go the Ag in the Classroom web site at www.wisagclassroom.org or call 608-828-5719. Purchases of the books help support the Ag in the Classroom through the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Foundation.
