Milk Market Update, Outlook Meeting Slated in Barron County

Milk marketing specialist Mark Stephenson with the University of Wisconsin-Extension will be the featured presenter at an upcoming milk market update and outlook meeting next week. The program will be held January 3 at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical
College in Rice Lake, beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Attendees will learn about reduction in milk premiums and/or increased milk hauling costs to dairy producers, why milk prices paid are below the 'announced price,' and a brief milk price outlook for 2018.
Stephenson is the Director of Dairy Policy Analysis at UW-Madison. He conducts and coordinates research and outreach activities related to the dairy industry, and is involved in applied research at the firm-level, including milk assembly costs, processing costs
and efficiencies, new processing technologies and new dairy ingredients.
