Blaze Pink Legislation Signed into Law
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 02/05/2016

Wisconsin became the first state in the nation that will allow hunters to wear blaze pink during the annual gun deer season. On Thursday, Governor Scott Walker signed a measure that is intended to give more options to hunters in Wisconsin than just the traditional blaze orange.

"It is always great when Wisconsin becomes the first state in the nation to do anything," said Rep. Joel Kleefisch of Oconomowoc, who sponsored the measure. "Anytime we can give hunters more options and retailors more opportunities, it's a good thing. I am hoping to spot plenty of hunters wearing blaze pink in the woods this fall."

In the past, at least half of each article of clothing that hunters wear above the waist must be blaze orange.

Supporters say the new policy will make hunting more appealing to women.
