Ag Day at the Capitol Being Planned for March 7
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 12/27/2006
The annual Ag Day at the Capitol has been scheduled for March 7 at the Monona Terrace in Madison. The event is the largest
gathering of farmers from across the state representing a variety of farm groups to learn more about priority state issues, and to
lobby their state representatives as a unified voice for agriculture.
The forum starts at 12:30 p.m. with a briefing on state issues. Several legislative speakers will be invited to address farmers. At
3:00 p.m. farmers will walk to the Capitol and meet with their representatives to lobby on issues favorable for Wisconsin
farmers. A buffet dinner will be held starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Monona Terrace.
Ag Day at the Capitol is co-sponsored by the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation, National Farmers Organization, Wisconsin
Cattlemen's Association, Wisconsin Pork Association, Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association, Wisconsin Corn
Growers Association, Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association, Wisconsin Soybean Association, Dairy Business
Association, Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Horse Council, Wisconsin Women for Agriculture, and the
Country Today newspaper.
Farmers can register by call 800-261-FARM. The cost is $10. Last year, more than 700 farmers attended the event.
