ACE Meeting to Focus on Growing Rural Communities
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 02/07/2017

Rural leaders, elected officials, conservation officials and livestock producers are being invited to participate in a dialogue forum about growing vibrant and green communities. The meeting is part of the Agriculture Community Engagement, or ACE partnership--which is a joint effort of the Wisconsin Towns Association, Wisconsin Counties Association and Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin.

The forum will be held February 21 at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.

Attendees will hear from State Agriculture Secretary Ben Brancel, who will share what he sees as Wisconsin's 'Ace' card and how he views upcoming regulations, rural issues and our ever-changing state. Charlie Arnot of the Center for Food Integrity will examine the relationship between science, values, trust, and how agriculture can engage in new ways to build public trust that supports both science and public policy.

Wisconsin State Broadband Director Angie Dickison will be on hand to provide information about broadband expansion challenges and opportunities. And Ron and Zoey Brooks from Waupaca will share their story of conservation, growth and vision as they transition into the future with the millennial generation at the helm.

Meanwhile, a panel discussion will focus on high capacity well legislation and NRCS' 590 Standard and nonpoint rules.

The cost to attend the meeting is $50.00. To register for the ACE event, call 800-947-7379 or go to
