Wisconsin Students Selected for Jersey Youth Academy
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 02/08/2019

The American Jersey Cattle Association has announced the 36-member class for its sixth national Jersey Youth Academy, and two Wisconsin students have been selected to be part of the program.

Grace Vos of Maribel, a student at Manitowoc Lutheran High School, and Colin Wussow, Cecil, attending the University of Wisconsin -River Falls, will participate in the training on July 14-19 in Columbus, Ohio.

AJCA President Jonathan Merriam says the students exemplify the many talented, interested Jersey youth in the country that may want to consider the Jersey dairy business as a full-time career.

"These young people from 17 states selected for this class exemplify the many talented, interested Jersey youth across the United States that our organization wants to encourage to pursue careers in the Jersey dairy business," Merriam said. "Continuing the impact of the national Jersey youth programs offered by the association."

Selection was based on merit, motivation and preparation for the program as reflected in the written application and goal statement. All program costs, including round-trip transportation for participants, will be paid by the Academy.
