UW Collegiate FFA to Host Hockey Extravaganza

Nearly 1,000 FFA students from 39 Wisconsin high schools will cheer on the University of Wisconsin men's hockey team on February 19 as part of Hockey Extravaganza, an annual event hosted by UW-Madison's Collegiate FFA chapter. The event is usually one of the largest FFA student gatherings of the year behind the State FFA Convention.

Begun as a way to introduce FFA students to life at UW-Madison, the event offers students from around the state a dose of UW spirit and traditions. Attendees learn hockey cheers and songs and enjoy pizza and entertainment provided by UW-Madison CFFA members before heading to the Kohl Center to watch the Badgers take on the St. Cloud State Huskies.

Because of its growth in attendance, the Hockey Extravaganza has expanded to hosting two simultaneous pep rallies in two different locations on the UW campus.

Originally conceived as a local event, the Hockey Extravaganza now draws students from more than 200 miles away.
