Wisconsin Aquaculture Conference Planned for March

'Moving Ahead to the Future' is the theme of the 2017 Wisconsin Aquaculture Conference. Registration is now open for the event, which will be held March 3-4 at Hotel Marshfield in Marshfield.

The conference will be preceded by a workshop meant to teacher farmers how to comply with state aquaculture regulations.

Speakers including Wisconsin Agriculture Secretary Ben Brancel, State Sen. Tom Tiffany and Alice in Dairyland Ann O'Leary. Attendees will also hear from Paul Zajicek, executive director of the National Aquaculture Association, who will speak about industry challenges and opportunities.

The two-day forum will feature more than 20 vendors, a silent auction and a cooking demonstration with recipes that include Wisconsin-grown fish.

Wisconsin has more than 2,400 fish farms and the largest aquaculture industry in the Midwest.
