PDPW Offering New 'Stride' Educational Program for Youth
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 02/18/2020

The Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin is hosting its first-ever Stride Leadership program for high school students this spring. The overnight event takes place April 4-5 at Dodgeland High School in Juneau, where participants will be mentored by college students, PDPW staff members, career professionals, and leadership experts from across the country to hone their communication skills, build confidence and develop strong character traits.

"Today's young adults face a barrage of opinions, opportunities and obstacles like no other generation in history," said PDPW Director Shelly Mayer. "In a world of advancements in technology, globalization, international unrest and humanitarian issues, we need leaders who will build the future. Though we grow great kids in rural America, leaders aren't born--they are developed."

The Stride weekend program is for high school students ages 15 to 18. In addition to educational training, they will also tour ST Genetics and participate in other fun activities.

Registration costs $89, which covers the cost of the tour, training materials, transportation and meals. Attendance is limited to the first 100 registrants. For more information or to sign-up, go to: www.pdpw.org or call 800-947-7379.
