Wisconsin Students Celebrating National FFA Week
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 02/18/2019

It's National FFA Week, which means agriculture students throughout the state will be busy promoting their favorite organization in a variety of ways. The celebration is held annually during the same week as George Washington's birthday, who himself was a life-long farmer and leader of our nation.

State FFA President Amelia Hayden says the Wisconsin FFA will be holding daily social media contests to celebrate their group, as well as attending various local chapter events, interviewing with the media and engaging with local communities to thank them for their support of Wisconsin agriculture.

"National FFA Week is a time to celebrate what students are accomplishing on the local level, to share the story of agriculture, and to showcase the integral role FFA plays in our schools and communities," Hayden told Wisconsin Ag Connection.

Meanwhile, many Culver's restaurants will also be holding promotions, where a portion of certain purchased food items will be donated back to the FFA.

Nationally, FFA reaches out to all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Wisconsin has 21,130 members from nearly 250 chapters in high schools across the state.
