Key Agricultural Legislative Committee Members Now in Place

With the next Legislative session about to begin in Madison for the 2009-11 biennium, the State Assembly and Senate leadership has finally announced the names of their new committee members.

In the Assembly, the Agriculture Committee will be chaired by Amy Sue Vruwink of Milladore, with her Democrat colleagues being Mark Radcliffe, Black River Falls; Phil Garthwaite, Dickeyville; Andy Jorgensen, Fort Atkinson; Louis Molepske, Stevens Point; and Chris Danou, Trempealeau.

On the Republican side, former committee chairman Al Ott from Forest Junction returns for another two years after leading the panel since 1995. Other GOP members are Lee Nerison, Westby; John Murtha, Baldwin; Gary Tauchen, Bonduel; and Ed Brooks, Reedsburg.

Members of the Senate Agriculture and Higher Education Committee include Chairperson Kathleen Vinehout, Alma; Pat Kreitlow, Chippewa Falls; and Jeff Plale, South Milwaukee on the Democrat side, with Sheila Harsdorf, River Falls; and Dan Kapanke, La Crosse serving as the GOP members.
