Rep. Mary Williams Will Not Seek Re-Election in 2014

Another state lawmaker has announced that she will not be running for re-election in November. State Representative Mary Williams from Medford, who has represented the 87th Assembly District since 2002, said she will give up her seat after her current term expires.
The Taylor County Republican is a former school teacher. She announced in a release last week that she believes in term limits and feels 10-12 years is adequate for state politics.
She has been a longtime member of the state natural resources committee and has authored legislation that would protect farmers from public nuisance lawsuits.
After her stint in Madison is complete, she plans to help out at her family-owned restaurant and spend time with family.
