State Senate Moves to Confirm DNR Secretary Cole
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 02/21/2020
Another long-awaited cabinet appointment has finally been confirmed by state Senators. This week, Wisconsin DNR Secretary Preston Cole received unanimous support by Republican lawmakers--over 13 months after being nominated by Gov.
Tony Evers to lead the Department of Natural Resources.
Cole previously served as the operations director for the City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works, where he was responsible for 2,400 employees and running a budget of $300 million. He also served as the former Parks Superintendent for
the City of St. Louis, as well as a Resource Forester for the Missouri Department of Conservation.
No action has yet to be made on the confirmation of State Agriculture Secretary-designee Randy Romanski. He was chosen to lead the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection in November after Senators rejected the confirmation
of Brad Pfaff to lead the agency.
