Over 100 Cows Die in Manitowoc County Barn Fire

A barn fire in eastern Wisconsin early Friday morning not only destroyed most of the structure, but resulted in the deaths of about 120 head of dairy cattle.
According to the Valders Fire Department, authorities were called to the scene of the fire in the Manitowoc County town of Liberty.
Police say about 15 cows were killed in the blaze directly, while many other milking animals and heifers had to be euthanized following smoke inhalation.
Fire Chief Dan Esser told reports that the fire had likely been burning for a couple of hours before the blaze was reported.
The cause of the fire has still not been determined.
