Women in Ag Seminar to Focus on Financial Management

The University of Wisconsin-Extension and UW Center for Dairy Profitability are hosting a two-day workshop series this spring for farm women interested in improving their farm financial management skills. The program takes place March 29-30 at the Athens Fire Hall in Athens.

This series includes in-class exercises to develop farm financial management skills. Upon completion, participants will receive certification credit toward fulfilling Farm Service Agency or other financial institution's educational requirements.

Topics include introduction to the financial management model, records and recordkeeping systems, types of financial statements, and benchmarking of financial position and performance.

Participants will also have an opportunity to network with other farm women in the area.
