Fundraiser Planned for Karlene Krueger in Campbellsport
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 02/21/2017

The community of Campbellsport is coming together to support the woman who's become known as the first female ever to receive the National FFA Star Farm Award. Karlene (Lindow) Krueger was recently diagnosed with stage-four breast cancer.

To show their support for what she's done for them, the local FFA chapter is holding a pancake brunch on March 12 at Campbellsport High School to help cover medical expenses.

Krueger is a Clark County native and former member of the Marshfield FFA. In 2002, she earned the top star award in the nation for her work in swine and livestock production. That distinction has since resulted in her FFA jacket becoming an exhibit in the National Museum of American History at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.

Karlene is now married and has three young children. The family has their own farm operation, where they raise Duroc, Hampshire and Poland China breeds of swine.

Campbellsport FFA Advisor Kristen Hatzinger says Krueger has been a great friend of the agriculture program and now the town wants to give back.

The March 12 event will also include a silent and live auction, bake sale, games and a raffle.

For more information, call Hatzinger at 920-533-4811, ext. 3103.
