State Cattlemen Planning Joint Annual Meeting in WI Dells
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 01/07/2013

Wisconsin's various livestock breed associations are once again teaming up to hold a joint annual conference this winter in Wisconsin Dells.

The Wisconsin Cattlemen's Association and the Wisconsin Cattlewomen's Association will join forces with the Wisconsin Angus Association, Wisconsin Hereford Association and Wisconsin Shorthorn Association to hold one large meeting on February 15-16 at the Wintergreen Resort & Conference Center. Last year, over 300 producers attended the two-day event.

The conference will feature a full day of educational sessions and meetings to discuss topic like nutrition, marketing, production, sustainability and legislative matters.

Terry Quam, Legislative Committee Chairperson of the Wisconsin Cattlemen's Association, will hold an update on legislative happenings in Madison that will affect Wisconsin's cattlemen in 2013.

There will also be virtual tours of Wisconsin Beef Operations.

During the banquet on Friday night, the WCA will be presenting its Communicator of the Year, Cattleman of the Year, and the Friend of the Cattlemen Awards.

It is not necessary to be a member of any of these participating organizations to attend the Winter Conference. The advanced registration fee for attending Friday's educational program will be $30 per person or $50 for couples. Students pay just $10. There will be no cost to attend any meetings on Saturday.
