Carncross Elected President of Wisconsin Holstein Association

A Columbia County dairy producer has been elected president of the Wisconsin Holstein Association. Craig Carncross of Lodi was chosen by his peers during the organization's 101st annual meeting in Wisconsin Dells last week.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Carncross milks 400 Registered Holstein cows and has already had 53 of his animals produce over 200,000 pounds in lifetime milk and 11 over 300,000 pounds. He was also chosen as the Holstein Association USA's 2017 Distinguished Young Holstein Breeder honoree last summer.

Heather Jauquet of Pulaski was voted-in as vice president, with Erica Ullom, Bloomer, re-elected secretary. Steve Endres, Waunakee; and Bryan Stremcha, Bangor, also serve as Executive Committee members of the board.

And two new board members were elected to serve a three-year term. They include Ryan Weigel, Platteville; and Robert Cramer, Jr., Juda. Pam Selz-Pralle, Humbird; and Craig Carncross, Lodi, were re-elected to serve another term.

Meanwhile, this year's Wall of Fame inductees were Margaret Rasmussen, the cow Ripvalley NA Bell Tammy, bred by the Rippchen and the Ossmann families, and the bull Emerald-Acr-SA T Baxter, bred by the Ossmann Family and Scott Armbrust.

The 2018 Distinguished Young Holstein Breeder award recipients were Joe & Sarah Sarbacker of Fischerdale Holsteins, Belleville. Honored with Distinguished Service recognition was Dr. David Selner of the National Dairy Shrine. And receiving the prestigious Distinguished Breeder honor were Don and Liz Mayer of Mayerlane Holsteins, Bloomer.
