Seefeldt Appointed to National Dairy Board

A Marinette County dairy producer who has led the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board for the past five years is one of 12 recent appointees to the USDA's Dairy Promotion and Research Board. Connie Seefeldt of Coleman were selected to serve a three year term on the panel.

Other state produces who serve on the DPRB include Raymond Diederich, De Pere; Bill Herr, Greenwood; Amber Horn-Leiterman, Billion; Randy Koller, Mondovi;

The National Dairy Promotion and Research Board, composed of 36 dairy farmers representing 13 regions of the contiguous United States, administers a coordinated program of promotion, research and nutrition education. It was first authorized in 1983 to design programs to strengthen the dairy industry's position in domestic and foreign markets.

The program is financed by a mandatory 15-cent per hundredweight assessment on all milk marketed commercially and a 7.5-cent per hundredweight assessment on milk and dairy products imported into the U.S.
