WALSAA Announces Board of Directors

The Wisconsin Agricultural and Life Sciences Alumni Association board of directors has announced its slate of officers for the coming year.

Marjorie Stieve, who is representing Vita Plus on the WALSAA board, will serve as president. A 1991 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she has also held positions with World Dairy Expo and Capital Newspapers. Stieve is a supporter of the Association of Women in Agriculture at UW-Madison, National Agri-Marketing Association, Wisconsin 4-H Foundation, Cows on the Concourse and numerous other organizations.

Dr. Shawn Conley of the UW-Madison Agronomy Department was elected vice president, and Sherryl Pertzborn with UW Health is the secretary/treasurer. Vern Dougherty, FOCUSED Marketing Research, will remain on the board as past president.

Other directors on the board include Emma Wagner, CALS Ambassadors; Paul Patterson, Plains All American; Kara Luedtke, CALS Office; Kristina Hopkins, Bader Rutter; Cory Brown, Sunburst Dairy; Tom Vergeront, Globe University; Julie Larson, Filament; Ale Nicolet, UW-Foundation; Jill Makovec, Brownfield Network; Stephanie Hammerly, Membership & Events Coordinator; Tammy Beard, Compeer Financial; Bob Behnke, Bur-Wall Holsteins; Kim Jones, Tanbark Consulting; Russell Tietz, Clausen Quality Chocolate; Tom Janczewski, Michael Best and Friedrich; Karen Martin, CALS Office; Scott Rasch, CNH Capital; and Logan Voights, CALS Student Council.

Since 1972, WALSAA has been the alumni association of the UW-Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and Farm and Industry Short Course.
