Wedig Hired as WFBF Ag in the Classroom Intern
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 02/29/2016

The immediate-past president of the Wisconsin FFA has a new gig. Alison Wedig of Darlington has been hired as the Wisconsin Farm Bureau's Ag in the Classroom intern.

Wedig is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she is majoring in life sciences communications. Upon graduation, she hopes to work in agricultural public relations or education.

"Watching students light up as they began to understand the importance of agriculture has made a lasting impact on me and encouraged me to find new ways to educate others about agriculture," Wedig said. "Being the new Ag in the Classroom intern will let me provide resources to Wisconsin students and teachers and encourage them to learn about where their food comes from."

Wedig will assist in updating and distributing educational resources and executing the fourth and fifth grade essay contest. She is a collegiate Farm Bureau member where she is active on their Ag in the Classroom committee, FFA Alumni member and is also involved in the National Agri-Marketing Association. Alison also serves on the UW-Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences Dean's Advisory Board and previously on the National FFA Nominating Committee.
