Farm Owner Dies While Clearing Snow on Roof

A 53-year-old man is dead after falling through a skylight on his barn roof while removing snow last week.
According to the Eau Claire County Sheriff's Department, Jim Volbrecht lost his footing while blowing snow off the building. That's when he fell 30 foot on to a concrete area, where he died at the scene.
The accident happened on February 22 at Volbrecht's dairy farm in the town of Union.
Volbrecht was also a volunteer firefighter and was involved in many local ag promotional activities.
