One of Wisconsin's representatives on the National Pork Producers Council has been elevated to a high officer position. During the group's annual business meeting in Kansas City last week, Howard 'A.V.' Roth of Wauzeka was elected vice president of the NPPC's board of directors.

Roth is a past-president of the Wisconsin Pork Association. He owns Roth Feeder Pig, Inc., a 3,000-head farrow to wean swine operation, and also grows corn and hay on over 800 acres.

The farm has been in AV's family for five generations. He assumed ownership in 2002.

AV is also a member of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau and chaired the Wauzeka Township Smart Growth Committee. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville from 1994 to 1998, where he majored in agriculture business.
