Northcentral Wisconsin Land Stewardship Conference Planned
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/09/2010
If you're a rural landowner who is interested in ideas on how to manage your land and practice good stewardship, make plans to attend the 8th annual Northcentral Wisconsin Land Stewardship Conference
at the Prentice High School next month. The event takes place April 10, and will address issues that will interest both new and veteran landowners. The keynote address will feature Randy Stark, Chief
Conservation Warden with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, who will speak on 'The History of Conservation.'
The program includes 25 breakout sessions covering topics on woods, water, wildlife habitat, and general landownership issues. The conference runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes a catered meal and
refreshments. Participants will receive handout packets with background information relating to the conference sessions and will also be able to view exhibits from private and public organizations that work
with landowners and visit with their representatives.
Early bird registration for the conference is $38 per person (if registered online or postmarked by March 19). Registrations after that date are $45 per person, and regular registration ends April 2.
For more information or to receive a printed copy of the conference brochure, call the Price County UW-Extension Office at 715-339-2555 or the Taylor County UW-Extension Office at 715-748-3327.
