Boettcher Appointed to National Dairy Board

A Wisconsin dairy producer is among 12 new appointees to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Dairy Promotion and Research Board. Patricia Boettcher from Bloomer was appointed to serve a three year term on the panel.

Also, Randy Roecker of Loganville was reappointed to another term on the board. Other Wisconsin representatives include Sharon Laubscher, Wonewoc; Carl VanDen Avond, Green Bay; Bill Herr, Greenwood; and Pete Kappelman, Two Rivers.

Other new appointees to the national dairy board include George Marsh, Oregon; Ray S. Prock, California; Arlene Vander Eyk, California; Brian Esplin, Idaho; Neil Hoff, Texas; Paul Fritsche, Minnesota; Mark Erdman, Illinois; Susan Troyer, Indiana; and Ronald R. McCormick, New York.

The National Dairy Promotion and Research Board, composed of 36 dairy farmers representing 13 regions of the contiguous United States, administers a coordinated program of promotion, research and nutrition education. It was first authorized in 1983 to design programs to strengthen the dairy industry's position in domestic and foreign markets.
