Family Farm Transition Webinar Set for May 12
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/15/2010

A special Webinar designed to assist farm families go through generational transitions will be presented May 12 by the American Society of Agricultural Consultants. The program will be conducted by Joe Kluender, CAC, an agribusiness consultant with LarsonAllen in New Ulm, MN, specializing in succession planning and cash flow analysis for retiring farmers.

"Farm Family Transition -- What works, what doesn’t work" will assist in understanding how the dynamics of a farm family affects the family farm transition. The transition plan needs to represent the needs of the farm business," Kluender notes. "Transitioning management, ownership, and operation of a Family Farm should be a journey, not an event."

Kluender will present anecdotal experiences of what works and what doesn't work in farm transition planning. He has a certificate in Family Business Advising from the Family Firm Institute and works closely with farm families to facilitate an orderly transition of the family farm business.

The Webinar will run from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. To register, individuals need to go to https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/926989840 or visit the hotlink at www.agconsultants.org. The registration fee is $19.95 which will be payable in advance.
