UWP Agriculture Council to Host Farm Forum
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/09/2007

Students and community members will learn about the role the media plays in promoting research and other activities that go on at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville during Farm Forum. The event will be held on March 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Agriculture Technology Center at UWP's Pioneer Farm.

The featured guest speaker for the event will be Pam Jahnke, farm director of Wisconsin Farm Report. Jahnke began her career in radio while studying at UW-River Falls, where she started the campus's first Farm Show. She has since been awarded the Farm Broadcaster of the Year Award for the western United States by the National Association of Farm Broadcasters.

"Farm Forum is a great opportunity for students and faculty to look at alternative ways in which the outside community and agriculture contribute to the success and progress that takes place at Pioneer Farm," says Carmen Check, president of the Agriculture Council.

Pioneer Farm is located seven miles off campus on College Farm Rd. Anyone wanting more information about Farm Forum may contact Check at checkc@uwplatt.edu.
