Alice in Dairyland Finalists Announced in Adams County
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/19/2018

Six women have been selected to compete for the title of Wisconsin's 71st Alice in Dairyland. During a candidate briefing forum in Adams County on Friday, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture informed the finalists about what the position entails and how to prepare for the finals event, which will be held in the county May 17-19.

"The Alice in Dairyland program has a strong history of promoting the diversity of Wisconsin's agriculture industry, and one of the six top candidates will continue this tradition as Wisconsin's most recognized agricultural spokesperson," said current 'Alice' Crystal Siemers-Peterman. "For all six top candidates, participating in the finals process will be an invaluable asset to build upon throughout their careers."

The 2018 Alice in Dairyland candidates include Kristen Broege, Janesville; Sydney Endres, Lodi; Alexus Grossbier, Elk Mound; Jacqueline Hilliard, Wisconsin Dells; Kaitlyn Riley, Gays Mills; and Megan Schulte, Hammond.

The public is welcome to attend various public events during the Finals in Adams County, including the Finale Banquet & Program on May 19 at the Adams-Friendship Fine Arts Center in Adams. That selection finale program will also be Webcast live on Wisconsin Ag Connection, which is being sponsored by Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, and Foremost Farms USA.

Alice in Dairyland is a full-time public relations professional employed by the DATCP Division of Agricultural Development for a one-year term. Each year, Alice travels more than 40,000 miles throughout the state and nation, promoting Wisconsin products to audiences of all ages and types. She educates the media, youth and civic groups about the many facets of the state's agricultural industry.

More than 20 women applied to become this year's Wisconsin agricultural ambassador.
