Nilsestuen Legacy Event Addresses Leadership in Uncertain Ag Economy
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/21/2017

The University of Wisconsin-River Falls will host the sixth annual Rod Nilsestuen Legacy Event on March 27, featuring a keynote address by Douglas Wilson. He is the CEO Cooperative Resources International.

The forum will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Kinnickinnic Theater in the University Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Wilson's talk is titled 'Leadership in an Uncertain Agricultural Economy,' which will focus on how the industry had to adjust to surviving in times of financial difficulty after enjoying years of record high commodity prices.

Nilsestuen, who earned his undergraduate degree at UW-River Falls, was Wisconsin's state agriculture secretary when he passed away in July 2010. He is remembered as a proud steward of sustainable agriculture and a leader in the national cooperative movement who strove to balance the needs of sustainable land use with the maximization of agricultural production.
