Wisconsin Hens Laid Less Eggs in February

Wisconsin egg production during February was 125 million eggs, down 11 percent from last month, and seven percent lower than last year.
According to the latest USDA Chickens and Eggs report, the average number of all layers on hand last month was 5.66 million, down 1 percent from January, but up one percent from early 2016.
Eggs per 100 layers for February were 2,215--down 10 percent from last month, and eight percent lower than last year.
