New Bio Industry Alliance Formed in Wisconsin
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 01/09/2007
Several of Wisconsin's top ethanol producers have joined together with state and national leaders to chart the course for the
state's future in the biofuels industry. The newly formed Wisconsin Bio Industry Alliance will focus on the development of
bio-based renewable energy, power and products.
"We saw the potential for this type of partnership after observing the collective power of more than 100 business, labor, and
education groups last year when they came together to form the Wisconsin Ethanol Coalition," said John Malchine, CEO of
Badger State Ethanol in Monroe.
Malchine recently served as the co-chair of Governor Doyle's Bio Based Industry Consortium. One of the recommendations
of that group was to create a partnership of Wisconsin firms involved in the Bio Industry.
The Wisconsin Bio Industry Alliance is a diverse group of businesses, environmental groups, and statewide and local
organizations that have come together to build both public and legislative awareness of the Bio Industry in Wisconsin.
