Wisconsin Part of Multi-State Avocado Recall
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/26/2019

A company that sells California-grown avocados is voluntarily issuing a recall of its product due to potential contamination. Henry Avocado says it is calling back conventional and organic avocados, which were sold in a half-dozen states, including Wisconsin.

The food company says the avocados were packed at a facility which recently tested positive for the possible of contamination with Listeria monocytogenes--which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

Consumers who have purchased the product are urged not to consume them, but to discard them or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

So far, there have not been any illnesses reported as a result of consuming the avocados.
