Members of Greenville Co-op Vote to Merge with United Cooperative
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/24/2017

Another merger between two rural cooperatives will soon be taking place. Members of Greenville Cooperative voted in favor of joining forces with United Cooperative, effective April 1. Company leaders say the vote was approved by 92-percent of its member-owners.

"I'm pleased the Greenville Cooperative members were able to see the vision of their board of directors and management and support this merger" said General Manager Mark Schleiss. "Changes in both the economy and agriculture had put increased demands on our cooperative's efforts to provide needed products, services, expertise, facilities and equipment for members' growing needs. Being a part of United Cooperative will give our members greater financial strength for their investment."

United Co-op CEO David Cramer said the focus of his business is to retain and protect member equity, while providing needed expertise through trained and talented employees.

Formed in 1931, Greenville Cooperative is a consumer cooperative specializing in energy, agronomy grain and feed products and services and had sales of $14.2 million last year.

Once the merger is finalized, the Beaver Dam-based United Cooperative will have 32 separate locations. The company is a full-service cooperative offering feed, grain, agronomy, and energy products and services to Wisconsin farmers and consumers.
