Diagnostic Workshop to Help Fresh Market Vegetable Growers
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/25/2009

The Wisconsin Fresh Market Vegetable Growers Association in cooperation with the University Extension will be holding a Fresh Vegetable Diagnostic Troubleshooting Workshop to give growers a first-hand look at potential crop insect, weed, disease and production problems.

The day-long workshop will be held March 31 at the UW Agricultural Research Station near Hancock, and again on April 1 at the University Center on the UW Fond du Lac campus. A group of vegetable crop specialists from the University of Wisconsin will address pest management and production issues in an interactive setting.

Participants will rotate through stations of live plant examples while the University experts explain the diagnosis and treatment of the problems. Afterward, there will be time for a question and answer session where particular issues can be discussed.

The diagnostic workshop is appropriate for any fresh market field vegetable producer. The cost of the program is $40 per person which includes lunch. For more information or to register, call 920-478-3852.
