Make Plans to Celebrate 'Dairy Day' at Miller Park on June 1
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/25/2008
Wisconsin's favorite baseball team is taking June Dairy Month to a whole new level. The Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board has announced it is sponsoring its third annual 'Dairy Day' at Miller Park on June 1. The event takes place during the Milwaukee Brewers game against the Houston Astros at 1:00 p.m.
WMMB's Andrea Martin says an expected crowd of 42,000 will have the opportunity to taste dairy products and walk away with a dairy-themed gift during the event. All active Wisconsin dairy producers
will also be offered half-price tickets in reserved sections.
"Options available include Terrace Reserved seats for $7.00 each, which regularly sell for $14; and Loge Outfield Box seats for $13.00 each--regularly $26," Martin says.
WMMB says producers were mailed a postcard with ordering instructions and a discount code. If you did not receive a postcard but would like to order tickets, contact the dairy check-off at 800-383-9662 ext. 232. Tickets
for this offer must be purchased by April 30.
Dairy Day will start with what's gearing up to be a mini-dairy festival outside the gates of the park. Prior to game time, a number of Wisconsin companies will offer product tasting of their milk, ice cream
flavors and cheese. There will also be a mooing contest conducted prior to the game. On the inside of the stadium, each person who walks through the gate will receive a collectible bobblehead featuring the
2007 Rookie of the Year; Ryan Braun, complete with the Wisconsin Cheese logo.
Meanwhile, the team is looking for one special dairy producer who would like the chance to throw the game's first pitch. Those who purchase tickets by April 15 will be entered into a drawing to be chosen to deliver the opening pitch of that game.
