UWRF Falcon Premier Sale Brought Strong Buyers
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 04/09/2020
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Falcon Premier Sale is being called a success despite the looming shut down of campus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Event organizers say 50 Holsteins and 10 Jerseys were consigned for the sale, which also allowed for online bidding for the first time ever.
The day's top seller was a Red & White cow consigned by the Harbaugh family of Bella-View Holsteins, which was purchased for $9,700 by Arnie Gruenes of Twin Spruce Farm.
The average heifer sold for $2,139 to buyers from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri and Canada.
The Falcon Premier Sale is a biannual event hosted by the UWRF Dairy Club.
