Grand Opening for St. Croix Business Innovation Center Slated
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 04/09/2018

The St. Croix Valley Business Innovation Center will hold a grand opening this week in River Falls. The facility--which has been a partnership between the River Falls Economic Development Corporation, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, the City of River Falls and Chippewa Valley Technical College--will welcome the public on April 12 with an open house at 2:00 p.m. and a brief ceremony and ribbon cutting at 3:00.

Wisconsin Agriculture Secretary Sheila Harsdorf is scheduled to speak at the event, along with UW System Board of Regents President John Robert Behling and other local and state dignitaries.

"The St. Croix Valley Business Innovation Center will be a one-stop location for businesses to access services and has great potential to provide new connection to the university's students and faculty," said UWRF Chancellor Dean Van Galen. "It's a strategic priority for UW-River Falls to encourage this kind of innovation and partnership, and we are proud to be a partner in this exciting collaboration."

Planning for the project began in 2010 after interested organizations did an analysis of the regional economy found a desire to better connect university resources with the business community.

The St. Croix Valley Business Innovation Center will team with UWRF's Center for Innovation and Business Development, which is located in the new facility to provide business planning, coaching and mentoring assistance, software, financial advisory services and many other resources to young and growing businesses.
