Record WBIA Bull Sale Held in Platteville

This year's Bull Test Sale is being called a success by the Wisconsin Beef Improvement Association. The event was held last weekend at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneer Prairie Farm, where a record 74 bulls sold for an average of $2,980.

John and Martin Andersen of Verona consigned the top selling bull of the sale. Their Angus lot sold for $5,600 to Riley Brothers Angus of Darlington. Another Angus consigned by Afolkey Springs Farm, Dakota, Illinois, went for $4,400.

The UW-Platteville Farm consigned the top selling Red Angus bull. Ken Heller, Heller Farms, Platteville now owns the LR Cash bull. He paid $3800 for the animal.

Buyers from Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois and Michigan attended the sale.
