UW-River Falls to Hold Colts-in-Training Sale
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 04/19/2019
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls' 43rd annual Colt Sale has been scheduled for May 4 at the school's Campus Farm. Organizers say nearly four dozen quality colts that will excel in any discipline will be sold to the highest bidder during the sale.
The event opens at 11 a.m. with a sale preview in which all of the horses will be ridden for potential buyers. Lunch will follow at 12:30, where student trainers will also be available to answer questions about the horses. The auction will begin at 2 p.m.
Each two-year-old horse featured in the sale has been trained by UW-River Falls students enrolled in the Principles of Training Horses class. This is a three-credit course, where students learn and refine their training techniques.
Sale coordinators say phone bids are welcome, but buyers must be pre-registered
