Great Midwest Alpaca Festival Being Held Next Week

The Great Midwest Alpaca Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a fresh new look and added features and surprises. One of the most popular alpaca shows in the Midwest, the event has something for the entire family and anyone interested in the business of breeding alpacas and processing their fiber.

The Festival will be held April 28-29 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. Organizers say 500 of the nation's finest alpacas will be competing in two rings running simultaneously.

Seminars on business planning, marketing, fiber processing and animal husbandry by leading experts in the industry will also be held.

Meanwhile, vendors at the tradeshow will be offering everything from alpaca socks and sweaters to teddy bears

And a silent auction will be held to raise money for the Great Midwest Alpaca Festival Scholarship at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine.
